My Story
Let me introduce myself and give you a little backstory behind Robyn King Interiors.

Art & design have always been a strong passion of mine. At school I would often spend many long hours at my desk drawing and designing for my Highers and Advanced Highers. I knew I wanted to continue to study design and I went on to complete a BA Hons degree in 3D Design at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen. For my degree show I sculpted pieces of jewellery made from laser cut CDs and Perspex. After the success of our degree show I went on to produce pieces of jewellery to sell locally and online.
I wanted to continue my studies and I then completed a Masters in Fashion Management at The Robert Gordon University. My work career then began at Dunelm where I developed my understanding and appreciation for window dressings. My in store experience alongside my role as an In Home Consultant further enhanced my skills and expertise with regards to curtains and blinds. In this role I really enjoyed being able to visit customers in their homes and I knew that interiors was something I was passionate about. My subsequent roles included working in a high end bespoke kitchens showroom as well as working as a Bathroom Contracts Designer.

Through my experience in a kitchen design showroom, I have honed my skills in understanding various styles, layouts, material suitability, and appliance brands. My expertise in AutoCAD allowed me to create detailed kitchen plans, which I then brought to life through stunning 3D visuals. I developed strong relationships with clients, ensuring their vision became a reality and I enjoyed the satisfaction of seeing their completed projects in their homes.

As a bathroom designer I worked on transforming spaces into functional and stylish bathrooms. Working with a diverse range of projects as part of the contracts team enriched my experience. I loved meeting clients in the showroom, guiding them through their options, and helping them realise their dream bathrooms. The insights I have gained in this field are invaluable as I continue to create beautiful and practical designs.

Once I moved on from my role as a bathroom designer, my family and I moved to Norway. During a transformative two years in Norway I immersed myself in the beauty of Scandinavian design and I am excited to bring that back to Scotland. Our living environment can have a big impact on our health, happiness and wellbeing. A well designed space can make such a difference to our day to day lives and it gives us a space which we are proud of.
I believe that every home should be a place of comfort, beauty, and functionality. I love getting lost in the creative process and finding the perfect balance between aesthetics and practicality. After years of helping clients bring their vision to life, I realised I had the skills and confidence to build something of my own, and that is how Robyn King Interiors was born. I know first-hand how overwhelming home projects can be with too many choices, budget concerns, and the challenge of making everything work seamlessly. That is why I am here to help. My design approach ensures that your home not only looks beautiful but also functions effortlessly for your lifestyle. Whether you are looking for a fresh new look, better organisation, or a space that truly reflects your personality, I would love to help you.
